AC Milan Want Barcelona Duo Samuel Eto’o & Victor Valdes

Having settled their financial issues with the sale of Kakato Real Madrid, AC Milan are now ready to dive into the transfer market themselves to reinforce their squad and they have come back to target Barcelona.

Rumours had emerged last week that Samuel Eto’o had reached a verbal agreement with the Rossoneri’s representatives to swap the Camp Nou for the San Siro on a free transfer in 2010. But Sport are now reporting that new coach, Leonardo, is eager to boost his side’s attacking firepower for the upcoming season.

The Barcelona-based paper believes agent Ernesto Bronzetti will fly into Catalunya some time in the next few days to discuss the possibility of signing Eto’o as well as goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, whose contract also runs out in 2010 and he has yet to agree a new deal with the Blaugrana.

The shot-stopper has been tracked by Milan over the past few years and rumours of a transfer have constantly surfaced. But the Serie A giants are aware that it will not be easing trying to prise the 27-year-old away as Barca have made it known more than once that they intend to find a resolution to his contract negotiations.

Eto’o, meanwhile, will be a more feasible target, although the striker’s sizeable transfer fee and astronomical wage demands could hamper an immediate move. Milan are also likely to face stiff competition for his signature from arch rivals, Inter, and Manchester City.
