Deco & Ricky near exit

That’s how I’d describe the iminent departures of Deco and Ricky Carvalho. It looks as if a deal with Inter Milan is close approaching with the two Portugese internationals linking back up with former manager Jose Mourinho.
Losing Deco is devastating. Riiiight. Ricky, on the other hand, isn’t a major blow to an already stacked defense but it will be sad to see such a superb player — a Chelsea legend in my eyes — move on. And while I thought he may just hang around for another year or two, his latest comments suggest he will definitely be on the way out.
Via the Daily Mail: “I hope Chelsea and Inter can reach an agreement for me. I was injured for much of last season, and was not happy and Chelsea can’t have been happy with what I did in the past year. I believe that my time at Chelsea is reaching an end.
“Everything is fine when you are fit to play, but there is no support when things are not going so well. I am happy that a big club such as Inter is interested in me and ideally I will leave this year.”
Yikes. The Guardian reckons we’ll let the pair jog on for less than half the £27.95 million they cost. Come on, can we not get at least £10-12m for Ricky? Whatever.
It’s not official yet, so stay tuned for confirmation in the coming days.
